How To Flirt Online

In person, we’ve learned the correct body language to use. We not only make eye contact, we use a certain eye contact to convey that we are interested.

Online we are limited to words and words only. So, how do we flirt online?

We can start with our first outgoing email. The first one will either make you or break you.

First, study your “love interest’s” profile to get a feel for their personality. If he is very sincere, sending a silly email might get you off on the wrong foot. And as we all know, we rarely get a chance to make a second impression. If you’re going to flirt online, take the time to do it correctly.

One really nice guy I met online had a very strange, dry sense of humor. I never knew when he was kidding. Whenever I received an email from him, I would read it over and over with a furrowed brow, just trying to figure out if he was serious or not…or maybe I missed something. Was there a hidden meaning? Do I need to read between the lines?

I let a friend of mine read the emails; she laughed and said he was just flirting with me.

I thought, “is that how to flirt online?” I hoped not…

I soon felt his emails were way too much work, and eventually I told him we didn’t have anything in common, and left it at that. I’m sorry…it took the fun out of online dating!

Here are a couple of my favorite outgoing emails that have worked for me for many years:

“I was strolling around and I noticed your light was on and decided to poke my head in and say hello. So, what are you doing with yourself this evening?”

Or…

“I was just wandering around Cyber Singles Land. Not too sure where I was heading…I saw the cutest little angel and decided to ask for directions. I asked where I could find a tall, handsome gentlemen with a heart of gold. She directed me to your place. I was a little disappointed that you weren’t home. So, instead of leaving a note, I left a little love, from San Jose. When you get the chance, I hope you will take the time to return the visit. Looking forward to hearing from you…soon.

Give them a try. I have no doubt they will work for you too!

The internet is a sea of eligible singles, and an even deeper sea of emotional con artists. If you prepare yourself, you will be able to handle it and use it to your advantage.

I’ve been involved with internet dating since it began. There’s been successes,(I’ve received a marriage proposal by phone and a set of diamond wedding rings via FedEx!) and some very bad failures. (I was set up to go overseas and pick up a multi million dollar donation…need I say more?)

As I began to arm myself, there’s been more successes and less failures. You must arm yourself in order to find the Love you’ve only met in your dreams!
